Why I Don't Finish What I Start | Relationship Advice for Spiritual Men

Introduction

Today, I want to address a recurring issue that many of us face - starting projects, dreams, and aspirations with enthusiasm, only to leave them incomplete. It's a problem I've personally encountered and heard from countless men in my coaching sessions. In this blog post, I'm going to share my insights on this common challenge, especially for spiritual men, and provide guidance on how to overcome it.

The Threshold of Anxiety

In my coaching sessions, I often hear men express a sense of reaching the cusp of a significant transformation, success, or progress in their lives, only to be paralyzed by overwhelming anxiety. I prefer to call it a lack of initiation and maturity, which is a challenge that transcends age, background, and profession. It's not about being lazy or incompetent; it's about the fear of change and personal transformation.

The Felt Sense of Anxiety

Anxiety often manifests physically, and for me, it's that uncomfortable knot in my gut, right around the solar plexus area. It's different for everyone; some may feel it in their chest or even their head. Recognizing this anxiety is crucial because it often leads to self-medication with substances like coffee, alcohol, screens, or overeating, creating an unhelpful cycle that doesn't provide lasting relief.

Understanding the Root Cause

To address this issue, I encourage individuals to become advocates for themselves. The first step is to understand why your body reacts this way. It may be tied to past experiences or unresolved trauma. Acknowledging that your physical and emotional responses are rooted in real-life experiences is the foundation for making a change.

A Multi-Faceted Approach

There's no one-size-fits-all solution to this problem. My personal journey to overcoming this challenge involved several elements, including understanding my ADHD diagnosis, experimenting with medications, embracing meditation, committing to regular exercise, optimizing my sleep, and even exploring the benefits of microdosing mushrooms. The key lesson here is that it's a multifaceted approach tailored to your unique circumstances.

Take Action Today

If you're grappling with this issue, it's essential to take action. You can't transcend what you physically feel incapable of doing. Seek help from professionals, such as coaches, doctors, and therapists, and be unwavering in your pursuit of personal growth.

The Bigger Picture

It's crucial to remember that this journey isn't just for your own benefit. If you're a parent, your transformation will significantly impact your children's futures. It sets an example of how to break through personal glass ceilings and achieve one's goals. Embrace this challenge, fight for your future, and explore every avenue for personal growth.

Conclusion

The inability to finish what you start is a universal issue, and it's important to recognize that it's not a sign of weakness. My guidance offers a roadmap for spiritual men to break free from this pattern, achieve personal growth, and unlock their full potential. By understanding the root causes of anxiety, taking a multi-faceted approach to healing, and seeking professional help, you can step into a brighter future filled with success and fulfillment. Remember, you have the power to overcome this challenge and inspire others along the way.
